Time to get to know Carl Erik Åkesson sales manager for FARMA / NIAB in Sweden and Norway. Calle has been with the company for many years and the company's success story, Calle has been very much involved in. We here at Fors MW is proud and delighted to have had Calle on board all these years!
Hello!
My name is Carl-Erik Åkesson but everyone calls me Calle, myself included. I grew up with the most natural of all, namely agriculture / forestry. My choices in education became agricultural training and I took my master (Lantmästarexamen) in 1975. Until then, I had only dealt with agriculture and the military, where I trained as a reserve officer in the armored forces. After the master exam I have worked with sales and since 1977 with machinery. During which time I lived on and ran my parents' farm with a total of approximately 100 hectares of fields and forest. In 2003 we sold the farm.
In spring 1998, I met Leif Fors in Tallinn. The reason was Leif's production of forest trailers.
In the summer of 1998 we reached an agreement that meant that I was commissioned to build a dealer network in Sweden and Norway, and manage sales in these countries. Even today it is my job and it's really an amazing journey that I have experienced under the leadership of Leif Fors. It is a journey that has established three market-leading brands. It is a rare luxury to experience something like that. There have been many setbacks along the road, not least of Estonia's largest industrial fire, but the curve has always been upwards and forwards, sometimes almost straight up.
The history of the company, you can read elsewhere, but one thing I am certain of and that is that the company continues to develop long after that I one day has left it. The reason for our success is no coincidence. Product development has always gone hand in hand with the demand of the customers. In addition the products have been manufactured in a cost efficient manner, which has led to competitive prices and good profitability. That the company has attracted the very best of dealers, due to high sales volumes is also extremely important.
I was asked about what I do outside of work but unfortunately I am a bit boring. I have no special hobbies but I like to travel and get new impressions, and thus learn new exciting things.
Oops, it was long but 62 years takes a few lines to describe.
